BioUni® Procedure

BioUni instrumentation, an exclusive Arthrex set, addresses many of the challenges and risks linked to implantation of multiple small and large cartilage cores and the associated recovery.
Precise Instrumentation

Multiple sizes allow adjustment to the width and length of the cartilage defect and ensure proper restoration of the articular surface with a single graft.
Easy to complete alongside other joint preservation solutions, such as HTO or meniscal repair, the BioUni technique helps treat large, oblong cartilage lesions with subchondral bone damage.
Orthobiologic Augmentation
Biologic options such as Arthrex ACP® platelet-rich plasma can be used to soak the bony side of the graft. AlloSync™ demineralized bone matrix can be used to assist in press-fit fixation into the defect and overall support graft integration.

Scientific Support for the BioUni Technique
Management of large, oblong lesions can be simplified using BioUni instrumentation and graft sizes rather than overlapping circular grafts.1
